Wegner has lost it! While investigating one murder, another happens, and the victim is the prime suspect in the first. He thinks he knows who did the second but can't prove it. So -- he sets up his new girlfriend to be bait for the presumed killer(s), but then decides to attend some family get-together and not protect his girlfriend/bait. Predictably - except to Mani - the bad guys break into her apartment and smash her in the face, ready to kill her. Wegner arrives just in time to bop the bad guys and save her life, but she does suffer a broken nose and two missing teeth. They love each other anyway. We never get to find out what happens to Wegner's father or brother or the dog Rex or Wegner's Chef, so maybe that will come up in the next exciting installment. Interessant.
I read the German to improve my vocabulary and not to forget what I have learned. Herzberg's book are fun. They often involve multiple aspects of life and some "over the top events" , yet they are fun. Really, you can!t beat the price and his books are entertaining. I think I have become a bit addicted.

Ausgezeichnetes Buch, sehr gut geschrieben. Habe es in einem Mal gelesen. Auch die ersten zwei Teile, perfekt.
